Spring time is here in Silverton! That means random snow storms throughout the spring and summer. Once the weather warms up a bit the fishing will start up and the kayaking trips will be a little less painful with warmer water. Managed to get a little kayak footage even though the camera died after 3 minutes due to the water being severly cold. Check it out!! Filmed with the Go Pro cam...very cool POV. Currently back in Hurley, NY for 18 days. The winter has died out in Silverton with many dust storms ravaging the snowpack for spring skiing, but its all good since kayak and fly fishing seasons are coming along very nicely. Can’t wait to see everyone here in New York!

Just got back from the river trip on the Salt River in Arizona! Also spent a few days down in Phoenix with Tony and got to do some serious off-roading, dirt biking, gun shooting, and fast food eating. It was great!!

Been a great week! Got my Dad in town and we’ve been hitting it hard all over Southwest Colorado. We had a rowdy night at the el Rancho in Durango where I saw some of the most unbelievable pool shots in history....afterwards we recovered and headed to Telluride, CO for some skiing and to experience the more classy and sophisticated ski bum lifestyle. Got some great pics and also some interesting video shots. One specifically shows the tight living quarters of Telluride lodging accommodations, it’s quite a small town and they pack in as many hotels, condominiums, and beds as they possibly can. 2-27-09 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!

Currently working at the San Juan Grill to fund the rest of the winter....got a few expenses to take care of. ER bill for split tongue, the truck is still in transition and being repaired at a new shop (don’t even want to know how much), and also a possible snowmobile purchase could be in the works with the money I don’t have. Gotta love it. Check out the pics!!!! The split tongue is revealed on the pictures page.

Been a rough week for me......After a knee to the face skiing incident I bit through my tongue and had to be given 4 stitches to get it back together. On the way to the hospital the truck broke down for the third time with the same problem that has been “fixed” by New Country Toyota(not recommended). But now I’m back on track with a normal tongue. I’ll get some split tongue pics up soon!

After 6 days in Las Vegas our wallets are feeling light, there is some questionable charges on the credit cards, and there was some great times to be had by all. Good to be back home in Colorado! This week will be crunch time on the newest edition of the LIFE IN SILVERTON series so check back for updates on the completion of the dvd!!

Went Cat-skiiing on Monday with the Venture snowboard crew on a photo/video mission....it was a great time had for all!! Got some great pictures and video segments. The ski area opened today after recieving close to 50inches of new snow.....quite the epic ski experience. On friday Barney, John, and I sessioned a little jump outside of town. Got some great pics! So check’em out.

Major winter storm is pounding Silverton and the surrounding San Juan Mtn range, Blizzard warning, reporting up to 3ft of new snow and wind drifts ranging from 4 to 8ft!!! I love this place. We are trapped in Silverton currently, all the passes are closed. The road to ski area is also closed and the avalanche status is unknown, the road could be buried by massive slides. Who knows when will open!?!!

Been a eventful past few weeks.....Chust turned 21, got alot more snow, snow melted then we got more again, had the VRB & summit county crew roll through for some good times, did some more HELI-Skiing, Durango has been like 70 degrees so we’ve been rallying the nightlife & enjoying the warm weather. The skiing scene has died out here.....just two more weeks of skiing left at the mtn. The Steak & Beer fest will be held at the ski area for the last two weekends, definitely worth checking out. Got new pics up!!!!!!

First time of the year I’m saying this.....but damn we need some more snow! Its been real warm lately with ALOT of wind, well over 100mph in some gusts. Just waiting for the Late season dumps to start rolling through. St. Pattys day was fun, did one too many car bombs and was stuck in Silverton. Chust’s 21st birthday is coming up on Monday the 24th, so call him up and wish him good luck. I’m sure there will be some good pics from that day. Hope all is well. Check the pics.

Sorry I havent updated in awhile, been real busy with customer videos at the ski area. We been riding around in the helicopter a bunch, got to go heli-skiing/filming......it was such an awesome experience. The snow has mellowed out a bit and the weather is getting warmer....great spring time skiing! Warm weather and big dumps are what March and April are all about. I’ll be updating more frequently, so keep checking back. Check out the pics from the past couple weeks!!!

Doing that halloween thing tonite....costume is in the works...post pics tomorrow. Starting at Chics then to Keegans and hopefully to Bridgewater, but who knows....Hope to see a bunch of drunks dressed like idiots. Salmon fishing monday and tuesday...cant wait!

COMING HOME!........Heading back east for 2 weeks, leaving tomorrow the 25th till Nov. 7th. Can’t wait to see the east coast crew and be back for some serious halloween partying. Also can’t wait to head up to Pulaski with the pops and maybe some other characters for some serious salmon fishing.

Met up with Chops and Durango crew then headed up to Yankee Boy basin next to Ouray. Gnarly driving! The terrain up there is amazing, we barely made it up the road due to snow and extremeness. It will be impassable soon with more snow but for now we made it and got some cool shots on the pass. Check’em.

Me, Yanko, and LT. DAN went up and skied red mountain today......pretty good, wind did a number on the snow but down lower in the trees it was butter powder. Good test for the knee which felt pretty good on the soft stuff, otherwise it was just good to get out there and make some real turns to start the season.

got home at 4am after watching the MSP ski film in Durango.....got a late start and headed up to the basin to get some ski shots, ending up skiing under the vodka shots then found a rail and an old mining cave to explore. Went skiing today and yesterday, concentrated more on the uphill to test the knee. Did pretty good! just woke up to about 5inches in town and its still dumping!! boo-yah.......going pop in a ski movie, eat some breakfast and get ready to head out and get some skiing shots, check back later for updated pics!

just got back from velocity basin, over a foot of new snow in some spots.....so awesome. Matt went up and made a few turns for the vid camera, check for the video later. Got some new pics of us driving up, so check’em out.

Heading back to Colorado today around 2:30....Had a great time in NY for 2 weeks! I got to see alot of friends and had plenty of good times, hope to see you in summer! The weather so far is not cooperating!! The forecast is for warm temps and NO snow for the next week or so. Been keeping busy by testing some new camera rigs(see pics) and doing alot of biking. Went to the secret beaver pond today and got some pics, didnt see the beaver though. Bummer.

STILL NO SNOW.....weather is too nice....its pushing myself and others to their breaking points! To pass the time, we’ve been doing many rituals to hopefully bring the snow, most involve alcohol. Jumping in the near frozen lake will hopefully bring copius amounts of snow. Otherwise things at the ski area are starting to kick off, the whole ski crew is back in town. Been working a few days at the mtn, my back is killing me. awesome. Got some new pics so check them out and please wish for snow!

After an enormous feast and night of drunken guitar hero, it finally happened. SNOW. Just woke up to about 5inchs in town, probably more up top. Once I find my camera, I’ll update the pics later today, so check back!

SNOW SNOW SNOW!!!!!! Its in the forecast......LOTS of it......Supposedly anywhere from 2-4ft predicted!

Finally and its happening a day before the mtn opens...perfect. We burned a pair of skis as a sacrifice to the snow gods......looks like they’re answering. I’ll be posting up pics as the snow piles up. Be pretty busy editing our video for THE BEATING FILM FESTIVAL in Silverton Jan. 4th, So I’ll try to update when I can. Super mega ultra massive DUMP!!!! We got pounded!!......As hopes faded for this years snowfall mother nature produced a massive jump start to the season...with a little 4ft dump over 24hrs. Morale is back up!

It is amazing outside, the trees are SO packed full, the roads are treacherous, Cliff lines are filled in, the locals have emptied the bars and are into FULL ON POWDER MODE!! This is what we live for!!!

Check out the pics!! The cameras were packed full of snow cause it was snowing so hard....but we got some good pics. Once it clears up on monday its going be POWDER fest 2007.

Its been an amazing two weeks for skiing, after another 2ft on top of last weeks 4ft and the forecast is calling for heavy snow tomorrow into Tuesday, possibly over a foot predicted. I have no limit on snow..BRING IT ON! Been patrolling and skiing at the Ski area this past week.....its amazing skiing up there, so deep and fluffly. COME SKIING NOW!......check out the new pics for real powder skiing.

Been skiing alot of powder lately.......taking it easy right now though, knee is hurting. We started the Heli operation at the ski area today.....just some avy- control work....full on heli-skiing will be starting soon.

Helicopters are cool. Forecast is looking good this week, calling for snow everyday this week. Should be good......check the pics of the heli.

The CHUST and I have been killing powder this week, we started off by skiing the Fairview avalanche path and just got done skiing prospect, it was muy bueno. Fairview was a very special treat since its usually too much of a risk to ski, buttttt it happened to be bombed via helicopter on avy-control route.

The New Year’s eve party started at our house and then moved to the MINERS Tavern, many were wasted. It was a good time had for all.......and we still got out the next day for some sick skiing in the Dry Gulch avy path. Check the pics for New years party and skiing.

TRAPPED IN SILVERTON!!!! Recent super storm closes all passes.....no way in....no way out. Both Red mtn pass and Molas/Coalbank are closed. Weather is calling for up too 2 more feet of snow by end of the storm, we’ve already got 30 inches. Also the road to the ski area has been closed due to an avalanche.

Its been an eventful week.....it started off by snowing....a ridiculous amount, 70 inches to be exact. Then I experienced my first avalanche rescue, a woman was fully buried about 200ft away from me. We dug her up within 4 minutes and she was totally fine....thank god. It was a good learning experience since no one was seriously injured, but its something I never want to have to do again. Then my dad got into town to ski the mountain, totally UNTRACKED!!.....so goood. From here on out, its powder skiing and drinking!

Oh man....its snowing again....2-3ft by tomorrow morning...Sorry havent updated in awhile, been working alot and been lazy. Alot has happened since last post.....my dad was crushing it at the ski area, we had an awesome time cruising around with the pops...on and off the slope. Couple surprise New Yorkers made it to Silverton today for some POWDER skiing at the Mtn....CHECK OUT THE PICS from today and from recent adventures.

I’ve lost track of all the snow we’ve gotten....I’ve only seen the sun twice in 2 and half weeks, its suppose to start snowing again tomorrow with unsettled weather into next week! Its ridiculous....theres so much snow in town....I Love it. Besides being sick for two weeks and a sore knee, its amazing to look outside.

Probably going head to Durango for some grocery shopping.....need some meat and liquor. Hope everyones doing well!! Stop by and come skiing.....if you can get over the pass!!

The monsoon season is starting here in Silverton......rain everyday at noon till 2pm. Sun, snow, sleet, rain and everything inbetween for the next month or so. Still very sore from the kettleball class at the Silverton movement center, check them out at www.silvertonmovementcenter.com, but managed to get out today and get a few shots of skiing up in Velocity basin. Been working like crazy here in Silverton, getting ready for the 4th of July weekend which is the biggest event of the year here. Up to 20,000 people visit, in a town with a population of only 500. Think about it! Last week was awesome times in Phoenix, AZ for Tony’s B-day, there was dirtbikes, babes, and beer. What else do you need? Well maybe Tony going through his house on a 50cc dirtbike....awesome. Be sure to check out the pictures page. Lots of good stuff from past week! Hope all is well!! Back on the east coast! Be here for a few months trying to make enough money to buy a new car and possibly head up to British Columbia. Currently on a family vacation in Ocean City, MD, so expect a few pictures from the trip. Be back home in Hurley July 18th. Hope to catch up with all the friends.

Officially enrolled in the fall 2009 semester at Dutchess County Community College and we’ll be finishing up my Communications & Media Arts degree sometime in the next year! Feels good to be a student again! Hopefully the east coast will have a big snow year or at least be cold enough to blow snow! This will be my 1st winter back east since Nov. 2004. In the meantime just enjoying the last days of summer here in lovely Hurley, NY! Check out the new pics page!

Fall foliage is just about to an end here in NY and the thirst for snow grows everyday! Hopefully by the end of this month we’ll be skiing on that luscious man-made snow I’ve been missing for so long. In the meantime check out the pics from tonight's full moon, taken in the Hurley cornfields.

After a semester back at school in NY, I’ve hopped a plane to CO to spend my winter break back out west in the mountains. Spent a few days in Breckenridge hanging with VRB & the moonstone crew, got to enjoy the summit county nightlife before heading down to ole Silverton where there hasn’t been too much nightlife, but plenty of snow and great skiing to be had. Been working a few days here and there at the San Juan Grill & the POW, been filming for a few projects, and been enjoying the simple life. Just about finished with the spring semester of school here in NY. The skiing season is pretty much over but I did get to go up to Hunter Mountain for the pond-skimming contest. A big thanks to my Venture skis for helping me make it across the pond nice and dry! Might be heading to Silverton for a good part of the summer...i’ll keep you posted, in the meantime check out the pics page!
